Mail in Entry Ideas

Mailing in sweepstakes is an art of its own. Because you are going to need to make your sweepstakes easy to read and readable by anyone, you are going to need to take your time when addressing both your return address and the mailing to address. When you are watching television, waiting for supper to cook or when you are sitting in the parking lot waiting for one of the kids you could be filling out sweepstakes envelopes or postcards passing the time.

Sometimes you will comes across cards that you don’t want to send out to others, cards that you received for birthdays and holidays but you want to recycle them. By cutting old cards down, you can make postcards that you can use to send sweepstakes entries out on. As long as you cut this cardboard like paper down to the size of postcard that the rules state you need to have, you can mail this new postcard out to where ever you want!

Decorating envelopes is something that many sweepstakes hobby enthusiasts do to occupy their time and to get their entry noticed. Many sweepstakes rules say nothing about decorating the envelopes only that you must hand print your envelopes so if you want to get the kids involved in something on a rainy day you can have them decorate your envelopes that you are going to use for entering sweepstakes.

You can use rubber stamps to make your entry stick out.
You can use glitter glued on your envelopes to make your entry original looking.
Using stickers put on the backs of envelopes that celebrate special occasions will catch the eye of the person opening the sweepstakes entries.
Different colors of ink looks great when you are filling out sweepstakes entries – unless the rules state you have to use a specific color.

When you are entering a contest that you can enter over the course of a month or even a year, be sure to stagger all your entries out so that you have a better chance of your entry ending up mixed through out the entire pile of mail. Sometimes you will find that entries are gathered in a huge container and the winner is picked at random – spreading out your entries will get your name through out this ‘pile’ of entries. This means that your chances of getting picked from one of those last mailbags is greater. You have a much better chance of winning a sweepstakes if you enter throughout the life of the sweepstakes, getting your entries in as many mail bags as possible.

Be sure to use permanent ink on the outside of your entry envelopes so that even if the mail was to get wet your name i and where the entry is going to won’t be erased or smudged or even thrown away because it can’t be read!

Happy Sweeping!
